Are You Considering Prune Juice For Constipation?

Yes, there are people – a lot of them, in fact – who take prune juice for constipation treatment, even though this means of intervention for the discomfort remains largely controversial. Not to give the wrong impression here – prune juice does have its medicinal and health giving qualities, not least of which are its antioxidant characteristics and its richness with vitamins and minerals that are essential to the human body. However, the treatment of constipation is a wholly different ball game that needs to be understood before it is embarked upon.

Constipation is essentially difficulty in defecation, a condition in which a person – or animal – has difficulty in eliminating solid waste from the body, and their bowel movements are so hard and dry.

See, there are salts that do this quite well, and a bunch of other confirmed medical procedures that doctors and medical professionals will readily recommend – but if you insist on treatment with prune juice, they won’t exactly stop you, especially since it is definitely not going to be harming you.

And so, how do you make the preparation? Hmmm, in a number of different ways, depending on your orientation, is how. You can concoct your prune juice with apple juice as part of your early morning breakfast, and chances are that before noon you may no longer be experiencing that nasty discomfort.

You could deck it out with oat milk also, if you wanted, mixing 8 ounces of oat milk with 3 of prune juice; or else you could create a 50-50 mix if you like the taste of prunes a bit. It shouldn’t be long afterwards before you get bowel movement relief, I daresay.

Also, apple sauce goes well with prune juice too, particularly when you make out a cup of the sauce with a cup of unprocessed bran, and a three-quarters full cup of prune juice. This one you might want to have refrigerated for a while before you down it, and even when you do, you only want a couple of tablespoonfuls in a glass of water daily. Personally, I would recommend this for folks who have a history of constipation and get recurrent bouts of it.
